Zesty Chickpea Curry

Get ready for a delicious, flavorful dish. This dish originated in North India. Punjabis are the first ones to introduce chana into cooking. The nutritional value of chickpea has also led to the popularity of the dish among the various Indian cuisines.

 

Ingredients:


* 2 tins chickpeas, drained 

* 4 garlic cloves, minced

* 350g onions, chopped

* 60g fresh ginger, minced

* 50g olive oil

 * Tsp cumin seeds

* ½tsp chilli powder

* 1tsp ground turmeric

* 1Tbsp amchoor (mango powder)

* Tsp garam masala

* 800g tinned chopped tomatoes

* 1 tsp fine sea salt

 

Preparation:


* Sauté garlic, onions, ginger, cumin, and oil for 10 minutes

* Add chili powder, turmeric, amchoor, garam masala, tomatoes and salt then cook for 10 minutes.

* Add prepared chickpeas and cook for another 10 min

* Serve garnished with raisins, vegan yoghurt and chopped fresh green chillies as desired.
